After hearing that Mount Evans officially opened up for the season my Father and I decided to head to it this morning. We left Arvada around 4:40AM and arrived at the gate around an hour later. After losing $7(stupid automatic ticket dispenser) we started our way up the highest paved road in N. America. There were some rather large snowbanks all the way up but unfortunately the road was closed at Summit Lake. At the still frozen lake the wind was blowing hard and must have had an 10F deg wind chill. Seems like Winter is still holding on :)
