Clear Creek Rush

Early this morning my father and I went to the Open space between Wheat Ridge and Golden along the waters of Clear Creek. The trail starts off where I-70 and Clear Creek collide just outside of Golden. After walking West about a mile or so, one comes upon a series of beautiful rapids/falls.…

Winter Comes

Over the past couple of days we’ve received our first real snowfall of the season. And although I wished I brought my camera yesterday I’m sure glad I brought it today during my lunchtime walk. My walk takes me alongside Boulder Creek and the scenery is always so beautiful!…

Prairie Flatirons

I found myself looking at the calendar and once again realized that I haven’t done an early morning shoot for quite some time. So in order to break that drought I headed to Chautauqua Park in Boulder, CO for a pleasant sunrise shoot. While a lot of the photos have been, more or less, taken before; I did manage to …

Leaving Dallas Divide

Driving further West we soon arrived at another bend that had a spectacular view! It was no wonder that there were photographers lining up in the bunches to grab some shots. We then continued driving West until I started to notice a loud grinding like noise in the middle of my Jeep. Stopping my Jeep on a lonely dirt road …

Dallas Divide Morning

Yesterday afternoon, after leaving Rifle, we drove into a massive storm system that brought buckets of rain and snow to the higher terrain. Since the entire way to Ouray was socked in we decided to just check out the town in lieu of any sightseeing. While walking back to the Inn the clouds started to lift a bit and unveiled freshly snow …

And so today, with our schedules finally freed up, we embarked on our first trip together as a couple. Our plan was to drive towards the San Juan’s Mountains of Southern Colorado and spend a few days down there. With the …

Roxborough

Having the day off for the extended holiday weekend, a friend and I decided to go for a hike in Roxborough State Park. The weather today was nothing less than amazing, especially considering it’s nearly Winter. As we arrived at the park there were numerous groups of deer alongside the road and to my amazement the park wasn’t too packed. …

Cold Day

As the first major snowstorm cleared out last night it left a hefty dumping of snow and extremely frigid temperatures this morning. Hoping to capture the fresh snow I awoke earlier than normal and ventured out. The temperature in my Jeep read 16F and with stiff wind from the West it felt more like in the single temperatures. The first …

Fleeting Warmth

After spending the majority of this weekend inside editing photos, I was happy today to have time with my Father and go photographing. We decided to visit the open space along Clear Creek in Wheat Ridge, CO and arrived just before the sunrise. There are a few ponds/lakes along the creek and at West Lake we spotted two Beavers cruising …

Colors

Noticing the hillsides around Eldorado Canyon turning red yesterday I decided to start the day with an early morning hike along the Homestead Trail. Located just East of the canyon the trail offers amazing views of the Flatirons and South Boulder Creek. The colors were just amazing and as the sun began to rise they started to pop even more.
