Divide Columbines

Upon leaving Loveland Pass and looking at the time, my Father and I wanted to check out the Columbines on the West side of the Divide at the Eisenhower Tunnel. Any given year there are tons of Blue Columbines, the state flower of Colorado, located just behind the tunnel entrance. And this year was no different as one can clearly see below. When we …

Morning at the Pass

This morning my Father and I captured the sunrise at Pass Lake near Loveland Pass, CO. We originally planned on hiking up in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Lake Isabelle to be exact, but decided to get a little bit more sleep and venture somewhere closer. Arriving at the lake just before sunrise we had some time to locate alpine flowers and do a little birdwatching. As …

Snowy Divide

Knowing that we didn’t want to be rushed or compete with all the bicycle traffic, …

After hiking for about half hour the sun began to rise above the Eastern Plains. Unfortunately this morning there wasn’t a cloud in the sky but it was still a …

Loveland Pass

So today I decided to take a quick little drive up I-70. I wanted to see how the fall colors were progressing around the georgetown/silver plume area in the high country. Although there were patches of color, we still have about a week before its all yellow up around there. After going past the Bakersville exit I decided to take …

Mount Evans

After hearing that Mount Evans officially opened up for the season my Father and I decided to head to it this morning. We left Arvada around 4:40AM and arrived at the gate around an hour later. After losing $7(stupid automatic ticket dispenser) we started our way up the highest paved road in N. America. There were some rather large snowbanks …
