12 PostsMorning at the Pass
This morning my Father and I captured the sunrise at Pass Lake near Loveland Pass, CO. We originally planned on hiking up in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Lake Isabelle to be exact, but decided to get a little bit more sleep and venture somewhere closer. Arriving at the lake just before sunrise we had some time to locate alpine flowers and do a little birdwatching. As …
Warm Breeze
Having made it through another week of work, I decided to take it easy this morning and take a few photos South of Boulder. The dense cloud cover out East blocked any chance of having a brilliant sunrise. But even so, the morning was beautiful and in many ways rather warm considering the last few days.

White Ranch Hike
With the fall colors starting to peak around the Front Range I decided to go for a sunrise hike with my friend and her fiancee. Meeting at the East trailhead of White Ranch Open Space, located in Jefferson County, we soon began hiking as the sun started to rise. It’s been awhile since I’ve hiked around here and this time of year is really spectacular. …
First of Autumn
Being extremely busy lately I haven’t had the time to take too many photos. But since today is the official first day of Autumn, I just had to get out and take some photos. Even though there were barely any clouds floating in the skies, the sharp light and Autumn grasses made for a truly wonderful morning. I have an …
Evening Storms
After leaving the stormy Midway Geyser area we proceeded to the famous Old Faithful Geyser. Upon arriving we noticed a large crowd gathered around the geyser, signaling the eminent explosion of scalding hot water. As we waited to see Old Faithful be faithful the storm we just left found us again. With rain and crazy clouds surrounding Old Faithful the geyser began to erupt …
Yellowstone Morning
Leaving Cody early this morning we drove to the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. We arrived at the park just before the sunrise and stopped a few times along the road. When we approached Yellowstone Lake the steam vents at Steamboat point were tainting the air with a wonderous sulfur smell. Something that we’d be smelling for more or less the rest of the …
Divide
My Father and I decided to head to Mount Evans for this morning’s sunrise. We left town around 4:30am and it wasn’t until we were near Idaho Springs that we spotted a sign that said Mount Evans would be closed from 9am-2pm for a bike race. Knowing that we didn’t want to be rushed or compete with all the bicycle traffic, …
Headed to Cuzco
Years of thinking I’d get my passport I finally went ahead and submitted my application this past April. I figured that I’d get it so when the opportunity to travel abroad arose I’d be ready. Little did I know that I’d get the chance only a couple of months later. At my sisters graduation party my cousin, Phil, asked if I wanted to join …
Hazy Morning
After spending most of Saturday working on the website, I had the itch to capture some new images this morning. With the sunrise happening earlier and earlier these days, waking up to catch it is becoming much tougher. My Father and I arrived at Eldorado Canyon State Park just before 5:30AM and were lucky enough to watch the sun come up between the canyon walls. The haze …
