After waking up around 3:45 this morning my father and I headed to Mount Evans for Sunrise. It wasn’t until we arrived in Idaho Springs did we notice that that road up the mountain was closed until 1pm today. So in lieu of the road being closed we just kept on going on I-70. We finally entered a very foggy Loveland pass and awaited the sunrise. The wind was howling at a pretty good clip and the temperatures were in the low 40′s. After walking around for a bit the sun came over the ridge and just about all the fog dissipated into the sunny clear skies. Overall a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

Late last night I decided to head to Calhan, CO for sunrise at Paint Mines Interpretive Park. The park has a lot of different types of rock formations, hoodoos (hat like formations), and grassland scenery. My Father joined me on this early morning trek and we left Arvada around 4:00AM. After about 100miles of driving we arrived in the small town of Calhan and headed to the park. The sunrise on this morning was beautiful! And a very cool breeze from the west made this morning even more pleasant. We saw a multitude of different type of flowers, birds, lizard, and a long tailed weasel! We left a few hours later and had breakfast in the town of Kiowa, CO. Overall it was a great day to get out and about!

Early this morning I went to the Mesa Trail just outside of Boulder to catch the sunrise. The majority of the sunrise was blocked out by clouds out East but it was still a beautiful morning to get out!

Before work today I decided to wake up extremely early today and catch the sunrise. I didn’t really know where to go…. so… I just went to one of my favorite areas along Plainview Road!
