Before work today I decided to check up on the flowers at Plainview in Jefferson County, CO. There were about 10 deer along the road and after walking around the Prairie for a bit I noticed 3 elk off in the distance. The larger herd was about a half mile away and didn’t seem to mind me. I was taking photos of the Blue Flag Iris when the 3 Elk came closer to me. I assume that the Elk were curious to see someone not paying attention to them and they came even closer. They eventually stopped about 25ft from me and they just starred. I starred back and eventually they caught my scent or something and ran to the North of me. It was a interesting morning for sure! Its been quite a few weeks/months since I tried to wake up and catch a sunrise. So after getting some inspiration last night I decided to wake up this morning at 4:30am. After waking up and showering the clock already read 5:25am. I left as soon as I was ready but much to my dismay I had to watch the gorgeous sunrise while in traffic. Even though I missed the sunrise by about 15 minutes it was still a beautiful morning to be alive! After milling around for a bit I headed into Boulder and went to Chautauqua Park. The common spring sunflowers are coming out in force now and I’m thinking about heading there sometime this week. |
