Wheat Ridge Light

Having the day off from work, my Father and I visited Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge. The cool temps, upper 40′s, and smells of Clear Creek greeted us as we walked around the ponds and Cottonwoods. We didn’t see any animals besides the ever present rabbits and common water fowl. One portion of the trail contained numerous large spiders. The biggest was larger than a silver dollar, see the last photo. What a great way to start a day-off! :)

Quick Light

I awoke from a dream at 4:30am this morning and decided to just stay up. After getting ready for the day I drove up to some open space in Westminster, CO. Once the sun rose over the horizon, the clouds quickly enveloped the light and grey skies ensued.

Sunflower Sunset

My friend and fellow photographer Jon Labass called me this evening and suggested we photograph some sunflower fields up around Longmont. After picking up Jon and his fiancé in Broomfield we headed north on I-25. We left the interstate at highway 52 and proceeded to go west. At that time a large storm was brewing over the mountains and shafts of light were cutting through the thick summer clouds. Thanks to Jons great directions we found a field along the intersection of N. 115th St. and Colorado Dr. What a truly beautiful evening!

Dragonfly Evening

This evening my brother, father and I went up north to test out my brother’s new fishing boat. After driving around for a bit we decided to go to one of my favorite areas in Longmont, Pella’s Crossing. Pella’s Crossing consists of 3 ponds along with trails connecting even more ponds to the west. Seeing that there wasn’t enough room for me in the boat, I just wandered around the trails. This evening there were tons of dragonflies and butterflies out and about. Overall it was a truly beautiful evening!
