Having the day off from work, my Father and I visited Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge. The cool temps, upper 40′s, and smells of Clear Creek greeted us as we walked around the ponds and Cottonwoods. We didn’t see any animals besides the ever present rabbits and common water fowl. One portion of the trail contained numerous large spiders. The biggest was larger than a silver dollar, see the last photo. What a great way to start a day-off!

This evening my brother, father and I went up north to test out my brother’s new fishing boat. After driving around for a bit we decided to go to one of my favorite areas in Longmont, Pella’s Crossing. Pella’s Crossing consists of 3 ponds along with trails connecting even more ponds to the west. Seeing that there wasn’t enough room for me in the boat, I just wandered around the trails. This evening there were tons of dragonflies and butterflies out and about. Overall it was a truly beautiful evening!

Seeing that the sunrise is starting later and later these days I decided to catch it over Denver this morning. I went to one of my favorite viewpoints of the city above I-25 and snapped a few photos. I love seeing how the skyline has been changing the past few years…Denver is becoming quite large! After taking a few photos there I drove around North Denver and eventually found myself at City Park. Overall a nice morning to be out and about!

After waking up around 3:45 this morning my father and I headed to Mount Evans for Sunrise. It wasn’t until we arrived in Idaho Springs did we notice that that road up the mountain was closed until 1pm today. So in lieu of the road being closed we just kept on going on I-70. We finally entered a very foggy Loveland pass and awaited the sunrise. The wind was howling at a pretty good clip and the temperatures were in the low 40′s. After walking around for a bit the sun came over the ridge and just about all the fog dissipated into the sunny clear skies. Overall a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
